It was another year for Nexia SJ Tanzania staff, when all staff gathered and celebrated in style on Friday, 14th December 2018 with their annual Christmas partyat Best Western Peninsula Hotel in Oysterbay Dar es Salaam.

The Christmas party not only a celebration of the firm’s business achievements over the year, but also it was another way of engaging employees in a Corporate Social Responsibility program by giving back to the community through supporting the disadvantaged. Through the program, the Staff donated items in-kind including clothing, books, toys, games etc to the Village of Joy orphanage in Mbweni.

Every year Nexia SJ Tanzania holds its Christmas party for staff members, however in addition to this year’s celebration, the firm made the good-cause donation to the orphanage. “We are very happy to be supporting the Village of Joy orphanage, helping the underprivileged community is our firm’s priority,” Managing Partner of Nexia SJ Tanzania, Sujata Jaffer said.

Featuring mixed cuisines from the Best Western kitchen, Nexia SJ Tanzania staff also participated in team building exercises which showcased team spirit and togetherness that makes Nexia SJ Tanzania a special place to work and grow.

During the team-building exercise, four teams competed building structures using straws and pins. The structures included a telecom tower, a worshipping temple, a high-tech shopping building with offices and restaurants and a Nexia-owned multi-storey office building with a restaurant on top. The winning team, which built a high-tech building and led by Tax Manager, Yagna Solanki won a Prize. After the exercise, the participating teams came away from the day feeling stronger, closer and more connected.

“There are so many benefits of team-building. Team-building activities like these are desirable in an organisation because they encourage different groups of employees to mix and converse, pushing them to get outside their comfort zones,” Sujata noted. “Team building can foster creativity, group planning, shared ownership, I am proud of every staff member who participated, they did a great job” she added.
